The Yokohama Fender style is the most widely used type of Pneumatic Fender. It is a Floating Fender made of rubber and filled with air, that is protected by an array of tires connected and secured by a chain net. These tires protect the fender from friction caused by the ship, and thus, has a long lifespan. For ships that have special security requirements, instead of the conventional car tires, we used the Aircraft Tires Pneumatic Fender, also known as the Aircraft Tires Yokohama Fender style. These aircraft tires are longer and thicker, preventing any contact between the ship and the chains of the fender itself, which can be concerning in scenarios involving oil tankers, or nuclear submarines, for example.

While submarines traditionally use hydro-pneumatic fenders, which are filled with water instead of air, our customer picked the traditional air filled Yokohama Fender style for convenience. This is partly due to that not only submarines, but any kind of vessel can use these giant pneumatic fenders without any problem.
The 3300 x 6000 mm dia Yokohama Fender style is the third largest size within industry standards. It is so large that it can be used by u-boats.
These extremely large pneumatic fenders have an energy absorption of 1814 kNm at 60% compression, in the 50 kPa model.
