The Permanent Chain Chaser, also known as the Pear Shaped Chaser, is a specialized chain recovery mechanism, characterized by it's superior sliding and penetration properties. It is the successor of the buoy and pendant.

The Permanent Chain Chaser is produced at a variety of sizes depending on the dimensions of the chain that it is going through it. The smallest sizes start at 1315 kgs, and it goes up to 2420 kgs the larger ones, which are commonly used in offshore operations.
